Thanks so much!
I do all my drawings simply on paper in ink and art markers, then scan it or snap a picture of it… I wanted to make it a task to draw my diet; before I ate something I had to understand in my mind that it would have to be drawn later. Is my food beautiful, or ugly, and usually that corresponds on how “healthy” it is, but more importantly how happy I feel eating it. So hopefully it doesn’t fall into guilt or shame, just happiness or disappointed. Like if I have candy (because I have always had a ridiculous sweet tooth) it’s fun to draw, but I definitely don’t eat it as much as I used to. Great thing about sharing your diet, is you develop a sense of responsibility to more than yourself.
And I’m definitely not the first person to do a blog like this, it’s a personal decision and idea that (of course) later I found a bunch of others doing it (sometimes much better than me!) Definitely check out Sarah Becan’s “Sauceome” website, she’s an amazing artist and designer and draws her diet digitally (plus she’s funny and adorable).
Have at it, and I think it’s one of the best ways to watch your diet, and be more mindful. Keep me updated!
